“Have you ever really taken a step back to look at the effect ‘Cocktails and Chemo’ has had on the world?”
The words Joe left me amongst a long list of demands to make sure my life goes on after he was gone.
“Don’t lose your glam.” He also instructed. It makes me laugh every he thought to write that in my letter, like what husband uses the word ‘glam’. Joe knew me.
I wake up every morning and go to bed every night thinking about him. Am I doing what he wanted? Would he be proud of me? Throughout the day I ask him for help. I talk to him in the car. I tell Mira how daddy would be so proud of her dance moves and daddy would love this weather.
Joe went on to say, ” We talked about doing something that made a difference, I hope you realize how much of a difference you have made and continue to make in this world.’ “
Joe and I always talked about starting The Cocktails and Chemo Foundation. We knew that we had been shown a world we wish we hadn’t seen but once you see all of the people who need help and all of the easy ways to help them, you can’t just sit on the sidelines.
Our goal is to help cancer caregivers. The people Joe worried about the most were the people who took care of him.
There will be a lot more to come and so much work to do. Like, a lot of work. Who knew how much work?? 🙂
So here is my first effort to heal, to hope and to help.
March 6th is Dress in Blue Day to raise awareness for colon cancer.
How amazing would it be if we were all in blue for Joe and to raise money for the Cocktails and Chemo Foundation????
We only have 10 days to order to make sure we get our shirts in time and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Cocktails and Chemo Foundation.
I’d love to see all of us on March 6th in our #JoeStrong gear to say that his life matters, cancer families matter and caregivers matter.
Here is the link to get your t-shirt and awesome window clinger.
Thanks for all of your support and for helping do what Joe did best— LIVE LOUD, LOVE DEEP, CRY HARD and take more pictures!!!
