I think if I check Facebook one more time my Iphone may actually explode in my hands. There has been a lot of waiting happening over the last few weeks and there’s only more in our future. We waited about 2 hours for our appointment this morning only to arrive to our next appointment and wait some more. Joe and I are constantly on our phones and trying to pass the time with meaningful conversation. Sometimes my constant chatting sends Joe straight back to his phone. 🙂

So it gave me an idea to give Joe hours of entertainment next week and something everyone can do to pull together and be #Joestrong for the big surgery Monday.

Wear blue (the color for colon cancer) and take a “selfie” on Monday. Tag Cocktails and Chemo on Facebook or Twitter or whatever you use. Let’s get #Joestrong “trending” and give Joe a look at everyone who is thinking of him.

Joe is going to be laid up in bed for weeks and I think he’s going to love looking at everyone rocking their blue while he’s in surgery.

Joe and I are moved into the apartment where we’ll take up residency for the next month and where we’ll hopefully move Joe “home” to as soon as he’s discharged from the hospital. Our family gets here Saturday and we’ve decided to make this weekend as fun and relaxing as we can knowing things are going to change dramatically come Monday.

So for now, spread the word. There are so many people backing us and who have been asking how they can help. I think going blue and #Joestrong is something small that can make a big impact— and selfishly, give me something to look at while I wait for surgeon updates.
